A controlled-release fertilizer improved soil fertility but not olive tree performance

چکیده

The use of a controlled-release fertilizer (CRF) was studied in traditional rainfed olive grove Mediterranean climate where precipitation is very irregular, particularly the spring. objective study to assess whether CRF can improve tree's performance compared conventional nitrogen (N) (CF), by supplying N gradually and reducing risk potential loss from leaching. fertilized treatments showed better plant nutritional status, which resulted enhanced net photosynthesis higher leaf concentrations total soluble sugars, chlorophylls proteins which, turn, increased yield 43% comparison unfertilized control. However, general, no significant differences were found between parameters trees evaluated, including yield. Somewhat unexpectedly, consistently soil organic carbon (C) (29%), kjeldahl-N (75%) easily extractable glomalin-related (EE-GRSP) (60%) GRSP (T-GRSP) (122%) CF. result ascribed stimulus on development herbaceous vegetation eventually activity roots due inorganic-N availability autumn. Thus, some autumn seems comprise low leaching, since weeds act as catch crop convert this inorganic into an substrate, with benefits long-term for agro-system.

Incorporating Controlled - Release Fertilizer Technology into Outplanting

The application of controlled-release fertilizers (CRF) at the time of planting offers a means to improve the establishment of forest tree seedlings. As compared to conventional fertilizers, the gradual pattern of nutrient release from CRF may better coincide with plant needs, minimize leaching, and improve fertilizer use efficiency. Many different CRF types are available and products differ in...

olive mill by-products application: organic olive orchard yield performance and soil fertility

seasonal accumulation and incorrect disposal of olive mill by-products may be detrimental to the environment. conversely, their proper recycling as soil amendments may be a sustainable solution. therefore, the objectives of this three-year field trial were: (i) investigating the effects of olive mill wastewater (omw) and pomace compost (pc) on plant nutritional status and yield in an organic ol...

Thermal post-treatment alters nutrient release from a controlled-release fertilizer coated with a waterborne polymer

Controlled-release fertilizers (CRF) use a controlled-release technology to enhance the nutrient use efficiency of crops. Many factors affect the release of nutrients from the waterborne polymer-coated CRF, but the effects of thermal post-treatments remain unclear. In this study, a waterborne polyacrylate-coated CRF was post-treated at different temperatures (30 °C, 60 °C, and 80 °C) and durati...

Controlled Release Fertilizer Improves Quality of Container Longleaf Pine Seedlings

In an operational trial, increasing the amount of nitrogen (N) applied to container longleaf pine seedlings by incorporating controlled release fertilizer (CRF) into the media improved seedling growth and quality. Compared with control seedlings that received 40 mg N, seedlings receiving 66 mg N through CRF supplemented with liquid fertilizer had needles that were 4 in (10 cm) longer as well as...
